To apply to bring NewsTrain to your town in 2019, apply by April 30 at bit.ly/HostNewsTrain. NewsTrain programs are aimed at newsroom editors and managers, reporters, copy editors, visual journalists and online producers working on multiple platforms. College journalism educators and student journalists have found NewsTrain valuable. Public relations specialists and public information officers also have benefited. NewsTrain workshops can include sessions on producing and editing multimedia content, organizational development and management, innovations in digital media, and other skills and knowledge needed at all levels of today’s news operations. Trainers at the one- or two-day workshops are experienced journalists and journalism professors.

NewsTrain delivers training throughout the United States and Canada. A workshop begins when a committee of local journalism leaders requests a NewsTrain in their city. NewsTrain staff work with the host committee to plan and deliver a workshop tailored to the needs of local journalists. You can find more information on hosting a NewsTrain here.
NewsTrain's low tuition is made possible by generous contributions from donors, large and small. You can help by contributing here.
NewsTrain's recent donors include The Associated Press, The APME Foundation, the Samuel I. Newhouse Foundation, Scripps Howard Foundation, GateHouse Media LLC, Pepper Hamilton LLP, Levine Sullivan Koch & Schulz LLP, the Park and Sigma Delta Chi foundations and APME past and present board members. To join them in supporting NewsTrain, please make your tax-deductible contribution here.
